Tridonic delivers ‘5-star’ lighting for Jumeirah Beach Hotel

The multi award winning Jumeirah Beach Hotel has a dynamic wave form plan and elevation that sweeps around the landscaped resort pools and one of the best beaches in Dubai. 26 storeys high, with each of its 599 rooms facing towards the Arabian Gulf and the Burj Al Arab, the hotel also offers over 13 restaurants, a marina, a sports club and spa as well as a conference centre and auditorium. Drawing inspiration from Dubai’s azure sea and silky-soft sands, a modern and contemporary theme flows through the refurbished hotel echoing that of its famed wave-shape exterior. A palette of blue and beige tones create a calming ambience that enhances its reputation as a relaxed luxury destination.
 

High specification but low maintenance lighting solution

The stylish 2018 makeover of the hotel has a strong focus on lighting, creating a contemporary, yet warm and welcoming ambience. Owing to the importance of minimal maintenance and disruption in guest rooms, hallways, foyers, and other public areas, the lighting designers painstakingly did several mock-ups with some of the most prominent names in the lighting industry, particularly for the cove lighting in the corridors and the guest rooms.

After careful planning and consideration, it was decided that Tridonic LLE FLEX modules offered the perfect solution and 29,000 metres of LLE FLEX G2 ADV 2700 K & 3000 K LED modules were installed throughout the guest rooms and corridors. The highly efficient LLE FLEX is a flexible, continuous row system with a luminous flux of 600, 1,200 or 1,800 lm/m, providing narrow colour tolerance, high colour rendering and perfect consistency, with a guarantee of 50,000 service hours and minimal maintenance. Design freedom is almost limitless, as the row comes on self-adhesive film for mounting on different surfaces and can be cut to size in 50mm increments.
