Modernising the existing infrastructure
Energy-efficient outdoor lighting based on the existing lighting infrastructure, which adapts to a highly variable number of visitors and can be controlled centrally – this was the task set by Spanish town Lloret de Mar.
With Tridonic, technical service provider SECE had the ideal partner for this challenging project: Dimmable Premium drivers suitable for use outdoors and equipped with a universal one4all interface were used as control gear for the new LED luminaires.
GridControl functionality is used to adjust the brightness; this function enables luminaires to be configured in the switch cabinet in a particularly convenient way by means of the U6Me2 protocol for signal transmission via the mains line, allowing the new LED luminaires to be centrally controlled via a telemanagement controller. Using the chronoSTEP function, the illuminance can easily be adjusted and lowered at times when there are fewer people present: The lighting is gradually dimmed in line with the sunrise and sunset.
Following the initial project in Lloret de Mar, the lighting system from SECE and Tridonic was successfully put into operation as part of further projects in Tarragona, Sitges and Granollers.
