The versatility of the DALI digital ballasts provides control over individual lamps, so that a range of pre-defined lighting scenes has been created to provide the perfect lighting for each type of activity. Crucially, digital dimming can be divided into 255 dimming scales. This enables a very smooth transition between different lighting scenes so that scenes can be changed during an event without guests noticing. Up to 16 lighting scenes can be pre-set on the DALI bus.
 

5-star lighting

Additional scenes have been programmed for times when the spaces are not in use for meetings but lighting is still required, such as when they are being cleaned. This ensures that all activities can be carried out efficiently without wasting energy. Other lighting requirements can be easily configured through the control system.

This was the first use of Tridonic DALI digital series in a Sheraton hotel and it has given the hotel the flexibility to cater for a wide range of activities while achieving the perfect balance of visual environment and energy consumption.
