Ambitious project for energy-efficient street lighting

2,700 street lights in four different versions are adding a touch of brilliance to the Spanish city of Pozuelo de Alarcón while helping to achieve 50 percent savings in energy costs. All thanks to a sustainable smart lighting concept in which various LED drivers from Tridonic are playing a decisive role. The installation includes 300 constant current 40 W LED drivers of type LCO 40/200-1050/64 pD+ NF C PRE3, 1,800 of the same drivers with a maximum output power of 60 W (type LCO 60/200-1050/100 pD+ NF C PRE3) and 600 90 W drivers of type LCO 90/200-1050/165 pD+ NF C PRE3. They enable the intelligent street lights to be controlled from the cloud and dimmed on the basis of programmable profiles – for street lighting that is not only pleasing on the eye but also energy-efficient. This innovative smart lighting concept is helping Pozuelo de Alarcón to achieve its ambitious climate targets.
