Once the “Terrassa Energia Inteligente” (TEI) project has been completed, the Spanish city of Terrassa expects to save 17,000 MWh of energy each year. A key element of the project was the modernisation of the outdoor lighting. Replacing 29,000 light points with LED luminaires from various renowned manufacturers posed a lighting control challenge for the city council. Tridonic's dimmable constant current LED drivers provided the answer.
Another deciding factor for the decision-makers was easy integration and flexible configuration of the luminaires using the U6Me2 programmer or the companionSUITE parameterisation software via NFC or ready2mains. Today, the corridorFUNCTION not only ensures greater energy efficiency but also provides the right lighting at all times to keep pedestrians safe in Terrassa.
