Top-ranking patent applicant
In 2021, Tridonic filed 67 patents with the European Patent Office (EPO). According to the current EPO Patent Index, this high number of patent applications ranks Tridonic as the third most active innovator in Austria.
The company has more than 300 employees working on successful innovations in its research and development department, ensuring that Tridonic is consistently able to meet its customers’ requirements. It works closely with its partners to offer new solutions for smart and connected lighting and holds an impressive total of around 2,600 patents. 35 per cent of all products in the Tridonic portfolio are new products.
The Patent Index 2021 lists 2,317 applications from Austria. A total of 188,600 patent applications from all countries were filed with the European Patent Office, representing an increase of 4.5 per cent on the previous year.
