Expansion of Maria Ward schools
Location: Bamberg/Germany
Products: , QLE Tunable White
In Bamberg’s old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, architects PECK.DAAM have created a new building extension for the two Maria Ward schools (Gymnasium and Realschule). Electrical engineering firm IBF Ingenieurbüro Förner implemented a lighting concept to match the architecture, which is individually tailored to each room and its specific requirements. The luminaires from Lichtwerk, which are used in classrooms, corridors, stairwells and the auditorium, are equipped with LED technology from Tridonic.
Tunable White in the classroom
The auditorium lighting, featuring Tunable White technology from Tridonic, is a particular highlight. A panel light, fitted with a QLE Tunable White set comprising four tiles, creates the optimum lighting mood for every room and its specific requirements. The high-quality LEDs allow the light colour to be adjusted from warm-white through neutral to cool-white (between 3,000 and 6,000 Kelvin). The light colour can be adapted to suit a specific event and time of day. This therefore guarantees optimum colour rendering quality and a high level of lighting comfort.
Modern board lighting is provided in the form of an extremely compact, yet powerful wall washer solution. All made possible by LLE modules from Tridonic. The modules are also incorporated in the stairwell luminaires. The light channels that are used here really highlight the internal architecture with its exposed concrete walls, saw-cut boards, and extensive use of oak veneer. The cove lighting in the corridor also ensures a homogeneous lighting effect on the wall with maximum efficiency, thanks to LLE from Tridonic.
