As part of the “Digital City Darmstadt” project, a street section in the Wixhausen area of Darmstadt has been equipped with adaptive lighting. Integrated PIR sensors react to movement and ambient light and control the street lamps as required. This not only makes for greater safety and saves energy but also protects the environment from light pollution. Wireless modules are used to connect the street lamps to one another and to the Internet of Things (IoT). The project is Tridonic’s first installation of innovative Smart City technology with light-on-demand functionality. more

As of 1 September 2019 Hedwig Maes will take over as CEO of Tridonic, the lighting technology company of the Zumtobel Group. Contactless data transfer using Near Field Communication (NFC) is becoming increasingly popular in luminaire production, as programming driver settings using NFC provides significant time savings. With its flexible, linear constant-current LLE FLEX CC advanced modules Tridonic offers efficient LED modules from the reel which are easy to install thanks to 3M adhesive tape, and take up little space in the warehouse. With the in-track drivers in the advanced and excite (ADV/EXC) series, Tridonic is continuing with the miniaturisation of its control gear. The drivers have an output power of 25 or 40 W and are integrated directly in the adapter for the 230 V track systems so there is no longer any need for a trackbox. more
